Salt Lake City to Manti, 275 Miles
This is the second ride of the season. We managed 275 miles. We left Salt Lake City, headed down Redwood Road into Saratoga Springs. Up the road to the Sinclair Historical site. Then up to B’s Hangout for lunch. Back towards I-15 and into Manti. From Manti we headed to Gunnison and up through Nephi. Since this is a training ride to test my ability to ride all the way to St. George (nailed it), we opted for the less scenic return of I-15 than back around the lake via Saratoga Springs. It is an easy ride, diverse terrain and a whole bunch of Mountain Valley floors scattered among our still snow capped mountains.
We put together a little video of each shot. You can find that link here. https://youtu.be/0F19SQe1hOA
First a disclosure. One of our viewers asked if Bell Motorcycle Helmets was “Sponsoring Us” in any way? Then proceeded to explain how to “better highlight” the product in future videos. While it was great information. Our education in recording devices is limited to “Which button on the cell phone do I push?”. Yes, GDawg was purchased a brand new GoPro and yet it is still my cell phone we use.
I ride Pillion. This means I ride Passenger. The perspective of each photo or video taken is from the perspective of the Pillion. My perspective, which is documented comes from a unique position. I have this great big Nordic husband in front of me and I get this wonderful view of his helmet. I have suggested his next helmet comes with a touch screen on the back so I can change my Apple Music channels with greater ease. Evidently, no one makes a Riders helmet designed for ease of the Pillion’s life on back.
In case you are wondering. As Pillion, your views are left or right, because center? Is the riders helmet and there is nothing you can do about that. So at what ever speed the Rider maintains, you will painstakingly remove your gloves, store them so they don’t fly off. You then reach into the correct zippered pocket, pull your cell phone out, snap the shot (at freeway speeds without dropping or allowing the wind to blow your cell phone out of your hands), store the cell phone back into the pocket, find where you stored the gloves and painfully put them on, one at a time without allowing the wind to blow them away from you. You put your gloves back on. Of course, after trying to decide if you want the left or right photo opportunity.
Enjoy the view. from the perspective of the Pillion.
No, we are not sponsored by anyone. This is simply one boy and his motorcycle and the gear he wears to get out there….into this beautiful country, on his motorcycle. We hope others can see these beautiful roads, from the perspective of a motorcycle, and a Pillion sitting behind the bikes Rider.
PS. Sorry for all the helmet shots. Honest, we aren’t sponsored, it is just his helmet and happens to be in my line of sight.
